Haiti Bercy School Sponsorship Weekend Sept. 23/24

Our Haiti Mission Committee continues to support the impoverished school children in Bercy, Haiti.

In the years since the devastating earthquake hit the island nation of Haiti in January of 2010, our fund-raising program has benefitted this small agricultural community with essential financial assistance. Your charitable contributions help to provide for the educational needs and to promote the health and wellbeing of the children of Bercy.

Over the years, we have helped to finance:

  • Student tuition, teacher salaries and training classes for the teachers and instructional assistants
  • Agricultural initiatives and school gardens to supplement the nutritional needs and provide hot lunches at school.
  • Construction of new buildings, classrooms and latrine facilities.
  • A new well to supply water on the school grounds.
  • The institution of clean water and hygiene programs at school and in the home.

This year following the disastrous effects of hurricane Matthew, our continued support is all the more critical as the region tries to recover. Please prayerfully consider contributing to this worthwhile program for the 2017-2018 school year. Our suggested donation amount of $150 will go a very long way in making this a great year for the school children in Haiti.

Our sponsorship program will be held on Sept. 23th and 24th. Please stop by our tables in the Gathering Space before or after Mass where our Mission Committee members and volunteers can assist you. We look forward to sharing our experience and telling you all about the progress being made at the school to educate and nourish the children
