Youth Ministry

Share and spread the Word!

The St. Thomas à Becket Youth Ministry Program is designed to help high school students grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.  We encourage them to actively participate in the Catholic community and share their faith on a more global scale through service and social justice projects.

Weekly Gatherings

We offer weekly youth meetings on Sunday nights from 6:30pm – 8:00 pm.  Each evening features dialogue focused around four major themes: catechesis, social justice, spirituality, and current issues faced by teens.  Some of the usual activities include making sandwiches for Reston Interfaith, discussing stress, proclaiming the word in our lives, and sharing personal spiritual journeys.

Social Activities

Workcamp will be held this year, 2021, from June 20-24.  We will gather each day at St. Thomas a Becket to head out to Paul VI High School which will be our home base.  From there we will meet our crew and go out to our site to complete tasks of making homes safer and drier for residents who are unable to do so themselves.  Each day we will return to the school to have dinner together, play games, and have an evening program.  We’ll head back to St. Thomas a Becket each evening to head home for the night.  Please contact Betsy Coffey for additional information or to sign up!
