First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion

For Children:

First Holy Communion is usually celebrated in the spring of second grade, after two years of preparation. Each student should be enrolled in the first grade so that their preparation is complete by the end of second grade. “Blessed” is the text used in the second grade to prepare explicitly for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion.

We encourage families with older children who have not received their first communion to enroll in either our OCIC or OCIT programs. Please contact Angela Bottom at 703-437-7113 for more information.

For Adults:

Adults in need of their first communion are encouraged to enroll in the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults). Please contact the parish office for more information.
