Infant Baptism (Infants – 6 years of age)

Since the earliest times in our Church, Baptism has been administered to children, and we joyfully welcome families who seek the grace of this sacrament for their child. The Rite of Baptism for infants and children is celebrated one Sunday a month at 1:00 p.m. Parishioners are to contact the parish office at 703-437-7113 for more information OR fill out the electronic form below.
If your family is new to the parish, please submit a registration form as soon as possible before scheduling a baptism. Registration forms are available at the parish office, from an usher at Mass, or online under “contact us”.
Godparents:
In addition to representing the Christian community, godparents help parents to bring up their children in the faith by their witness and prayers. To be a godparent is a privileged service in the Church. Church law says that a godparent be at least sixteen years of age, have received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) and lead a life of faith in accordance with the Church. Only one godparent is required and a maximum of two (one male and one female) can be recorded in the baptismal record. One of the sponsors may be a baptized non-Catholic Christian as a witness of the Baptism.
