This weekend Father Mario Amore is glad to have the opportunity to visit our parish on behalf of Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS). Fr. Mario was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on May 23, 2015, and served as the Parochial Vicar at two large, suburban parishes with schools. In 2019, he was assigned as the Pastor of St. Aloysius Parish in downtown Detroit—a historic parish known for its ministry to the poor and its evangelization efforts geared towards young adults. In 2023, in addition to his parish responsibilities, Fr. Mario was appointed the Director of the Department of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship for the Archdiocese of Detroit, which oversees the outward pastoral ministries of the diocese, including discipleship formation, cultural ministries, campus ministry, evangelical charity, family ministry, engagement, and sacred worship. As of July 1, 2025, Fr. Mario has been appointed the Executive Director of Evangelization and Parish Renewal for the Archdiocese of Detroit. FOCUS is a national organization serving college students at more than 259 campus/locations including ten international locations, 28 parish venues and ten digital expansion campuses. More than 1062 FOCUS missionaries invite college students into a relationship with Christ and His Church, while equipping them for a lifetime of Catholic evangelization. Fr. Mario is excited to be with you soon and share the hope of the New Evangelization! To learn more, please visit www.focus.org.
